Group
Number of Participants 3-5 students (undergraduate/diploma) in one group from the same university. Each university can only submit a maximum of 2 entries.
Objectives 1. To raise awareness about environmental issues, particularly related to waste management and the importance of recycling and upcycling materials.
2. To promote sustainable fashion practices by demonstrating how discarded materials can be transformed into stylish and innovative clothing and accessories.
3. To spark creativity and innovation by challenging participants to think outside the box and reimagine the possible ways to recycle waste materials.

Description
A fashion runway-themed 'Malaysian Heritage Meets Futuristic Flair' using recyclable materials to create futuristic traditional Malaysian costumes. This competition enhances students' creativity while also improving their communication skills through the narration of each design showcased. Trashion Show also aims to increase awareness about ensuring the sustainability of the environment and to celebrate the diversity and beauty of traditional clothes among Malaysians.

How to Participate 1. Read the guidelines on the Trashion Show competition in the Rules and Regulations Booklet. The theme is 'Malaysian Heritage Meets Futuristic Flair'.
2. In the video, one student will take on the role of narrator, while only two students will serve as models. Any additional participants, if any, can assist in other behind-the-scenes roles.
3. Collect recycled or repurposed materials to create the trashion costumes. This could include items like newspapers, plastic bags, bottle caps, old fabric, or discarded clothing. Students must use their creativity to create the costumes. Please be reminded that the costumes should be designed and created by the participating students.
4. Students must plan on how to present and record the trashion costumes on the runway. While recording the runway segment, the narrator must provide explanations for their trashion designs. Write a script that highlights the inspiration behind the outfits, the materials used, and any sustainable fashion principles incorporated.
5. The YouTube link must be submitted through the submission link together with the final script used for the video.
6. We encourage all trainers and participants to record and upload their practice sessions for promotional purposes. You may upload your practice video(s) on YouTube or TikTok followed by this hashtag #CountDownHEELCa24. Your practice video(s) may be featured on our HE ELCa 2024 website and other social media platforms.
Duration of the video 3 to 5 minutes
How to submit 1. Upload the video on YouTube, followed by the hashtags #TrashionShowHEELCa24 #HEELCa2024
2. Submit the YouTube link, narrator's script, and participants' details through the submission link.
3. Three finalists will be shortlisted and notified to compete in the final round during the HE ELCa 2024 Closing Ceremony.
